So Great Salvation

Part One

How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those
who heard Him.
--Hebrews 2:3

GOD'S INVESTMENT: It would seem that if God has made such a tremendous "investment" in our salvation, He would not allow that
salvation to depend on our capability! If a person will look up these verses in context and prayerfully consider their implications, it would
seem that such a one would be fully convinced of their security in Christ.

Predestined to be like Jesus - For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the
firstborn among many brethren.
--Romans 8:29

Redeemed - In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. --Ephesians 1:7

Reconciled - Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
--2 Corinthians 5:18

Forgiven of all trespasses - And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with
Him, having forgiven you all trespasses.
--Colossians 2:13

Executed and buried - Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory
of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also
shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with,
that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin.
--Romans 6:4-7

Free from the Law - For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. --Romans 6:14

Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another; to Him who was
raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.
--Romans 7:4

Born again as a child of God - But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in
His name.
--John 1:12

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing
f the Holy Spirit.
--Titus 3:5

Received prestige of mature sons "huiosthesia"* - To redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
-Galatians 4:5

Made accepted in the Beloved - To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. --Ephesians 1:6

Sanctified - By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. --Hebrews 10:10

Perfected forever - For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. --Hebrews 10:14

Qualified to be considered a "saint" - Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the
light. -
-Colossians 1:12

"Huiothesia," the word translated "adoption" actually means sonplacing, sonship; it was the custom when a young man reached a certain
age that he was recognized as the heir and given the privileges of adulthood. We are not adopted into God's family we are born into it.
Born from above. Now God wants to treat us like adults.
