PSALM 23

 

The Lord is my shepherd

JEHOVAH-ROHI

O Zion, you who bring good tidings, get up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, you who bring good tidings, Lift up your voice with
strength, lift it up, be not afraid; say to the cities of Judah, "Behold your God!" Behold, the Lord GOD shall come with a strong hand,
And His arm shall rule for Him; behold, His reward is with Him, And His work before Him. He will feed His flock like a shepherd;
He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with young. --Isaiah 40:9-11

 

I shall not want.

JEHOVAH-JIREH

And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, \
"In the Mount of The LORD it shall be
provided." --Genesis 22:14

 

He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.

JEHOVAH-SHALOM

So Gideon built an altar there to the LORD, and called it The-LORD-Is-Peace. --Judges 6:24a

 

He restores my soul;

JEHOVAH-ROPHEKHA

..."If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep
all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you."

He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name's sake.

JEHOVAH-TZIDKENU

In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called:
THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. --Jeremiah 23:6

 

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; For You are with me;

JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH

"All the way around shall be eighteen thousand cubits; and the name of the city from that day shall be:
THE LORD Is THERE." --Ezekiel 48:35

 

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

JEHOVAH-NISSI

And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-LORD-Is-My-Banner; --Exodus 17:15

 

You anoint my head with oil;

JEHOVAH-MEKADDESCHEM

..."Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations,
that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you." --Exodus 31:13

 

My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.
